around:
With waist hold (gent's R arm around the lady's waist and her L hand
on his R shoulder) partners lead around to place.

Slow
slide and swing:
Taking waltz hold, couples slide into the place of the couple on
their R and dance two steps in place (dancing 1,2, 123, step&cut,
step&cut), turn clockwise and slide into the place next on the R
using the same step, repeat the movement back home and swing for the
last 4 bars.

Ladies
R hand chain:
While gents dance in place, ladies dance into the centre (2 bars),
take R hands and dance round and out to the gent R of their own
place (4 bars), take L in L and dance around him, turning twice
clockwise underarm while the gent follows her round (2 bars). Ladies
dance back to the centre, take R hands and dance round to the gent L
of their own place and dance around him, turning under his L arm (8
bars). Ladies repeat the movement back to their own partners and
turn twice underarm into place.

Swing
six:
With the lady's L hand under the gent's R elbow, couples dance to
meet in the centre. Gents take crossed hand hold (L hand in
the R hand of the gent on the R) while ladies also take the elbow of
the gent on their R (2 bars). All swing clockwise, jump to
change feet on the last beat of the 8th bar and swing
back in the opposite direction, falling back to place on the last 2
bars.

L hand chain:
The chain movement is repeated, with ladies giving L hands in the
centre and R hands to the gents to turn 2 turns anti-clockwise under
arm. They turn under partners' R arms into place.

held to finish in the centre, drop hands and turn out to face their
partners (8 bars).

bars). The movement is then repeated back to starting

anti-clockwise, finishing in line with couple 1 (4 bars).
The 8 bar movement is repeated twice more, with ladies linking arms
then gents linking arms and the single couple dancing a full turn in
place until all three couples are approaching their starting
positions and drop back to place on the last 2 bars.

STEPS
The down jig step is used for the jig figures and a lively reel step,
battered at the dancers’ discretion, for the reel.

SOURCE
This is an abridged version of a six figure set which I wrote to
commemorate the ending of a great miscarriage of justice while
living near, and dancing in, Birmingham. At the time I was
quietly advised to drop the idea and the full set was never danced.
